Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior UX Researcher and Tester to join one of our well-reputed public service clients’ teams for an exciting project in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This hybrid role offers flexibility with some work-from-home opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in user research and usability testing to enhance the user experience for the client’s mobile application.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute user research activities such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and contextual inquiries to uncover user behaviors, preferences, and pain points.
• Leverage advanced AI-assisted tools for insights synthesis, trend analysis, and predictive modeling to derive actionable recommendations.
• Develop and maintain user personas, journey maps, and other research artifacts to align cross-functional teams.
• Plan and execute usability testing protocols, including test plan development, participant recruitment, session facilitation, and result analysis.
• Collaborate with UX designers to translate research findings into intuitive design solutions, wireframes, and prototypes using Figma.
• Utilize web analytics, A/B testing, and heatmaps to validate user flows and inform design decisions.
• Participate in design sprints, ideation sessions, and reviews, providing expert guidance on UX research and usability testing.
• Ensure accessibility compliance with ADA and WCAG standards by conducting evaluations and recommending improvements.
• Continuously assess the usability of the mobile platform through user feedback, ongoing research, and predictive AI tools.
• Work closely with developers to ensure the seamless implementation of user-centric designs.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in UX research and testing, with a proven track record of leading research initiatives in Agile environments.
• Strong expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including usability testing, surveys, and contextual inquiries.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma for wireframe and prototype creation.
• Experience with dynamic insights synthesis and automated tools for actionable research outcomes.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively present findings and insights to diverse stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with remote usability testing platforms (e.g., UserTesting) and participant recruitment.
• Skilled in creating user personas, journey maps, and artifacts to align cross-functional teams.
• Experience collaborating with designers and product managers to implement research-driven solutions.
• Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics for tracking user behavior and deriving data-driven insights.
• A portfolio showcasing UX research projects and design work (required).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Familiarity with design thinking principles, including participation in design sprints and workshops.
• Experience in building or enhancing cohesive design systems.
• Proficiency with Agile tools like Azure Boards and collaborative workflows.
• Experience conducting accessibility evaluations and ensuring compliance with ADA/WCAG standards.
• Advanced analytics expertise for user behavior tracking and iterative improvements.
