Job summary

Fidelity is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to join the User Experience Research Team in the United States. You will plan and conduct qual and quant studies, identify user problems, and test ideas that inform product-market fit.

You will work daily with Product, Design, and Content to influence decisions and outcomes. You will participate in initiatives to improve research practices and help advance careers within a collaborative 70-person UX community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of UX Research or related advanced degree preferred.
• Experience planning and conducting mixed-method studies.

The Role

As a member of the User Experience Research Team, you will contribute to Fidelity’s future growth by understanding people and their needs. Your research will inform and inspire our business and design partners to improve current offerings and develop new products that help people achieve their financial goals. You will plan and conduct various types of qual and quant customer research, identify problems from the user’s point of view, develop insights and opportunity areas, and test new ideas for product-market fit. This role requires a motivated, high-potential individual with a growth mindset to collaboratively strategize and execute research studies.

As a Senior UX Researcher, you will:

• • Engage daily with Product, Design, and Content stakeholders to understand priorities and key initiatives
  • Scope qualitative and quantitative research studies with stakeholders, manager, and teammates and define how best to execute the work to answer research questions efficiently and effectively
  • Execute project work in collaboration with your manager and team
  • Share insights and recommendations with stakeholders, ensuring that recommendations influence design decisions and improve user outcomes
  • Contribute to the UX Research community by participating in initiatives that improve our practices and processes

Your Expertise and SkillsYou Bring

• • 2 plus years of UX Research or Bachelors and/or Masters in Design, Human Factors, Psychology, and/or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including 1:1 interviewing, concept testing, usability testing, heuristic evaluation, and survey design
  • Familiarity with the Jobs to Be Done framework
  • Ability to recommend appropriate research method and approach, based on objectives and constraints
  • Ability to rapidly scope, execute, and deliver results with assistance from manager and team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to analyze research data and share insights and recommendations succinctly, with actionable takeaways
  • Curiosity and confidence to ask questions that will uncover stakeholders’ true research needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and build trust with users and stakeholders in product, design, and content
  • Ability to pivot in a complex environment
  • Ability to tie research insights and recommendations to business needs and problems with assistance from manager and team

The Team

Fidelity follows standard product-development frameworks that put user needs at the center of all that we do. As a Senior UX Researcher, you’ll be part of a 70-person Research and Product Design Strategy community that identifies users’ unmet needs and guides Fidelity to build useful and usable digital products. Fidelity’s UXR leadership team is committed to coaching and advancing associates’ careers. UX Research is supported by a Research Ops team that manages recruitment, procurement, and project tracking.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
