Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior UX Designer for the Search App to transform complex tasks into intuitive experiences across billions of users. You will craft user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management to translate insights into impactful product experiences.

You will apply user-centered design methods, evolve the Google design language, and contribute to SDS foundations while leading projects that shape the future of Search across platforms.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
• Experience designing for native app-first experiences (e.g., iOS, Android).
• Experience contributing to mature design systems including component design, documentation, and education.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Partner with product areas to advocate for SDS and App Foundations, promote standards, and integrate changes into guidelines. Collaborate effectively across functional teams.
• Identify emerging needs, develop interaction design best practices, and contribute to interaction pattern documentation.
• Lead or contribute to key projects, ensuring a holistic systems-thinking approach and advocating for user needs across platforms and applications.
• Foster a system-wide design mindset within the team. Partner strategically with engineering, product, and Search Foundations to define the future of design systems at Search (and Google).
