Job summary

Cutera, Inc. in RTP (Raleigh, NC) seeks a Senior User Experience Designer to shape next‑gen digital and connected medical device experiences.

You will translate clinical workflows and business goals into intuitive, safe interfaces across software and hardware. You will collaborate with software, hardware, regulatory, and product teams to develop user journeys, design systems, and usability studies, leveraging a strong portfolio and 7+ years in medical/technical UX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, HCI, or related field.
• 7+ years of professional UX design experience.
• Experience leading UX for complex software or hardware-integrated products.
• Experience in medical devices or healthcare tech environments.
• Strong portfolio with UX strategy, interaction design, and usability.
• Expert knowledge of user-centered design processes.
• Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, prototyping and testing tools.
• Experience with AI-enabled design tools in product development.
• Knowledge of design systems and scalable UI frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead UX activities across multiple product development programs from concept to commercialization.
• Translate user needs and clinical requirements into intuitive experiences.
• Develop user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, and hi-fi prototypes.
• Create UI designs aligned with product, brand, and usability goals.
• Define and maintain design systems and interaction frameworks across platforms.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design to create cohesive physical and digital experiences.
• Advocate for user voices and conduct usability studies and workflow analyses.
• Translate research into actionable design recommendations and executive presentations.
• Mentor junior UX team members and promote collaborative improvement.
