Amazon’s AWS Kiro team seeks a Senior UX Designer to shape experiences across Kiro Crew, IDE, CLI, Web and Mobile surfaces. You will lead concept framing, ecosystem mapping, user stories, and end-to-end design, while collaborating with product, engineering, and leadership to advocate for developers and deliver tangible improvements.
You thrive in ambiguous spaces, define problem spaces, prototype across fidelity levels, and mentor juniors.
Job ID: 10529075 | Amazon Web Services, Inc.
Agentic development is redefining how software gets built, and Kiro is at the center of it. Kiro is an agentic AI from AWS that turns prompts into structured requirements, designs, and sequenced tasks, then implements them with parallel agents that verify correctness. It's available as a desktop IDE, a CLI, a web app, a mobile app, and Kiro Crew (an open-source persistent development workspace), all powered by one unified agent harness.
We're looking for a Senior UX Designer to help shape this experience. You'll initially focus on Kiro Crew and Mobile, two surfaces with distinct design challenges and significant room to define the experience. You'll build deep understanding of the developer audience while leading hands-on design work: concept framing, interaction patterns, and shipping real improvements that inform longer-term product direction.
The design challenges here are unlike traditional developer tools: How should a developer steer an autonomous agent? What does a spec-driven workflow feel like across an IDE, a terminal, a browser, and a phone? How do you build trust in AI that writes and validates code on your behalf?
You excel in the early, ambiguous stages of design: concept modeling, ecosystem mapping, user story development, and framing the experience before pixels are ever pushed. You know how to set up a problem space so that the right solutions emerge. You are equally strong in execution, iterating rapidly and prototyping in whatever tool fits the moment. You adapt your approach based on the problem, the timeline, and the team. We value designers who bring their own perspective and working style. What matters is the quality of thinking and the impact of the outcome, not conformity to a single methodology.
You will collaborate with product teams, engineering teams, and executive leadership to identify and execute on opportunities, serving as the voice of the developer with senior leadership.
You'll join a team of designers and researchers embedded directly in the Kiro product organization. We sit alongside product and engineering as one team, which means design has a seat at the table from strategy through shipping. We have dedicated UX research support and work in close collaboration with our researchers, so design decisions are grounded in real customer insight, not assumptions.
Our team covers the full Kiro product suite: IDE, CLI, Web, Mobile, Kiro Crew, the Kiro agent, and platform capabilities. We support each other's growth, share work openly, and believe that the best design comes from people who bring diverse perspectives and their own way of working. If you thrive in an environment where you have real ownership, close partnership with research, and the autonomy to choose how you approach a problem, you'll feel at home here.
