Senior UX Designer – Digital Experience & Transformation
We are looking for a Senior UX Designer – Digital Experience & Transformation to report directly to Executive UX Leadership and work alongside our Expert UX Designer, product teams, and enterprise architects. This role is a specialized, high-impact position that balances two core areas of impact: 50% capacity dedicated to driving digital transformation, building with Claude Code, and abstracting complex technical/CLI workflows into visual UIs; and 50% capacity dedicated to core product initiative design.
This candidate needs to have a diverse set of skills that works to improve experiences for all users: end users, clients, the extended product and development teams, and stakeholders. They do this by helping to ensure usability, accessibility, and delight are incorporated into these experiences while helping negotiate timelines, identify value, and determine incremental improvements for our growing products. These are technically curious designers, and they are expected to support the complete software development lifecycle by partnering closely with the extended product teams to conceive, define, and understand requirements; identify use cases, suggest interactions and functionality to support the goals of all the represented users listed above, and define success metrics that will aid in validating the end product before and after delivery to our end users.
A strong portfolio demonstrating these skills is required, along with experience building prototypes, including code-based or AI-assisted prototypes, to communicate and test ideas. This is a design role; they won't be writing production code.
Responsibilities
Digital Transformation & AI-Driven Workflows:
- Builds, tests, and iterates on live-code prototypes using Claude Code and terminal-based AI tools to rapidly validate UI concepts, micro-interactions, and component logic.
- Translates Figma design tokens directly into production-ready React/TypeScript components using Claude Code, ensuring seamless alignment between design artifacts and front-end engineering.
- Translates complex technical workflows (including ones that today live in command-line scripts and developer tools) into intuitive, visual, human-centered experiences. Partners with architects and engineers to understand how things work, then design how they should feel to someone who has never opened a terminal.
- Drives early technical feasibility reviews by using Claude Code to inspect component structures, test mock APIs, and verify code-level design fidelity prior to quarterly planning.
Core Product Initiative Design:
- Partners upstream with Product Management during discovery to frame problem statements, co-write requirements, and define success metrics prior to execution.
- Delivers complete design artifacts (user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed UI specifications) for assigned value stream initiatives.
- Collaborates downstream with engineering teams to ensure design specifications and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 Level AA) are accurately realized and tested in production code.
- Conducts user interviews and usability tests to inform design decisions and validate implemented features.
- Effectively communicates design decisions through written and verbal means to all levels of stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into simple language.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing software interfaces for complex web applications, enterprise SaaS platforms, developer tools, or internal workflow engines.
- Hands-on proficiency building with Claude Code (or similar CLI/AI coding environments) to generate, modify, and test front-end UI code, components, and prototypes.
- Demonstrated ability to break down highly technical, multi-step command-line processes into simple, guided visual user interfaces.
- Strong understanding of human-computer interaction principles and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 Level AA).
- Proficiency in creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills to explain design rationale, demonstrate working code prototypes, and drive adoption across product and dev teams.
- Experience conducting user research, moderating user interviews, and analyzing user data to validate design decisions.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and quarterly delivery planning.
