Job summary
RPM Industrial Coatings Group, part of RPM International Inc., seeks a Sr. Chemist - UV Segment Leader to be the technical lead for our UV wood coatings platform.
You will drive innovation, lead development, and mentor a direct report while collaborating with Commercial, Manufacturing, Quality and R&D to deliver customer-focused solutions. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of industrial formulation experience in coatings, inks, adhesives, or related technologies.
- Demonstrated experience developing and commercializing UV-curable coating technologies.
- Strong background in waterborne UV, solvent-reduced UV, and 100% solids UV formulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects and lead technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the organization's primary SME for UV coatings technology.
- Lead development and optimization of UV-curable coating formulations.
- Establish technical direction and innovation strategy for the UV segment.
- Drive problem-solving across formulation, performance, scale-up, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D leadership to advance solutions.
- Own and lead all lab activities related to UV within Stage Gate processes.
