Job summary

RPM SPG in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Sr. Chemist - UV Segment Leader to serve as the technical lead for our UV wood coatings technology platform.

You will drive formulation development, establish technical direction, and collaborate across Commercial, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D to deliver innovative UV solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in waterborne UV, solvent-reduced UV, and 100% solids UV technologies, plus strong project leadership and mentoring skills to guide a

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related.
5+ years of industrial formulation experience in coatings or related technologies.
Experience developing and commercializing UV-curable coating technologies.
Strong background in waterborne UV, solvent-reduced UV, and 100% solids UV formulations.
Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME for UV coatings technology.
Lead development and optimization of UV-curable coating formulations.
Establish technical direction and innovation strategy for the UV technology segment.
Drive problem-solving activities related to formulation, performance, scale-up, and customer requirements.
Maintain overall responsibility for the UV project portfolio and lead cross-functional teams.
