Job summary

King County Metro Transit is seeking a Journey-level Utility Line Worker to install, maintain, and repair high-voltage trolley overhead and underground electrical systems. You will work on energized equipment and coordinate with teams to ensure reliable service across King County.

Experience with lines, safety procedures, and the ability to lead others on temporary projects is valued. The role requires strong collaboration and dependable scheduling for emergency repairs.

Qualifications

• Journey-level Line Worker with field experience and ability to perform duties safely.
• Completion of a recognized Line Worker apprenticeship program encompassing high-voltage work or current Line Worker union card.
• Ability to work at journey level with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a culturally diverse team environment.
• Ability to work safely while performing duties.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair overhead trolley lines and underground distribution; test, troubleshoot and repair circuits.
• String wires and cables for electrical power distribution and transit control circuits.
• Read blueprints and follow design plans; adhere to safety standards.
• Respond to emergency repair calls during non-working hours as necessary.
• May lead others within the trade, material workers, and/or helpers on temporary projects.
