Job summary

Highland Electric Fleets is seeking a Senior Interconnection Manager to own the utility interconnection and new-service program across a large, fast-moving portfolio of battery energy storage, edge compute, and EV charging sites.

You will serve as the primary interface with electric utilities, lead external partners, and build playbooks to accelerate engagement across 20+ states. Travel is approximately 20%.

Qualifications

• Experience with electric utilities interconnection, new service requests, and service upgrades.
• Ability to move utility applications forward on aggressive timelines.
• Proven coordination of multiple external partners on complex programs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication with utilities and internal teams.
• Experience negotiating interconnection agreements with utilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the interconnection and new-service program across Highland's portfolio from diligence to energized service.
• Lead utility diligence to confirm buildability: capacity, voltage, upgrades, timelines, costs.
• Prepare and manage new utility service and interconnection applications through approvals.
• Serve as primary contact with utilities, manage timelines, budgets, and escalations.
• Lead external partners performing diligence and ensure parallel progression with design and permitting.
