Job summary

Michels Infrastructure Solutions seeks a Utility Manager to coordinate utility-related activities for hyperscale data center projects. You will identify conflicts, coordinate with utility owners, manage permits, support relocations and protection, and ensure locate compliance while safeguarding nearby infrastructure.

The role serves as the key link among engineering, construction, utility companies, permitting agencies, subcontractors, survey teams, and project leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in utility coordination and permitting on large projects.
• Ability to read and interpret utility plans and drawings.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility coordination efforts throughout all phases of project execution.
• Identify, track, and mitigate utility conflicts that may impact construction activities.
• Coordinate with utility owners, municipalities, permitting agencies, engineers, and project teams.
• Support utility permitting, protection planning, and access requirements.
• Maintain visibility into existing utility infrastructure and project impacts.
• Promote safe excavation and construction around existing utilities.
• Maintain utility tracking logs, conflict matrices, and coordination documentation.
