Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Odessa District is seeking a Utility Coordinator III or IV to manage coordination between the department, federal agencies and utility providers. You will review plans and permits, ensure accurate documentation, and resolve issues related to utility relocations and reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in any discipline; substitutions allowed for experience.
• 2 years of utility/transportation/construction experience for Utility Coordinator III.
• 3 years of utility/transportation/construction experience for Utility Coordinator IV.
• Valid driver’s license; requires driving a state vehicle.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain liaison between the Department, federal agencies, utility companies, title companies and others.
• Review agreements, plans, specifications and billings from utility companies.
• Ensure electronic documentation and data in TxDOT systems are accurate and up-to-date.
• Research problems and coordinate solutions for utility conflicts and reimbursements.
• Oversee updates on current projects for planning and portfolio purposes.
• Review processed permits for accuracy and completeness.
• Meet with utility representatives to explain policy and relocation/reimbursement processes.
• Monitor installation, removal, adjustment or relocation of utilities.
• Process utility permits and related highway permits.
