Job summary
The Odessa District of the Texas Department of Transportation is seeking Transportation Engineer I–IV to manage multiple transportation schematic projects and environmental consultant contracts across the district. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 4–7 years of relevant experience, and professional engineer licensure; open water diver and bridge inspection certifications are valued.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science.
- 4–7 years of engineering/transportation experience depending on the Engineer level.
- Professional engineer license with reciprocity considerations for TX
Responsibilities
- Assist with design, plan preparation and data review.
- Coordinate and monitor assigned projects and programs.
- Develop and review engineering documents, reports and remediation plans.
- Communicate with stakeholders and represent the department as needed.
- Monitor consultant contracts and invoices; prepare supplemental agreements.
- Perform advanced engineering design including layouts, plans and estimates.
- Apply project management to initiate, plan, execute and close transportation projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
