Job summary

The City of Edmonds is seeking a Senior Utilities Engineer to plan and manage the city’s water, stormwater and sewer utilities programs, including capital projects, design drawings, specifications and cost estimates.

You will supervise staff, oversee consultant contracts, coordinate with departments and citizens, and ensure quality through inspections and contract administration. This role centers on delivering safe, reliable utilities infrastructure for Edmonds residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with four years of public works or construction-related experience including project management.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the City's engineering programs for water, stormwater and sewer utilities; develop and manage capital projects.
• Oversee design drawings, specifications and cost estimates; review and approve drawings prepared by staff.
• Manage consultant and contractor contracts; coordinate bids, awards and construction contract documents.
• Perform field inspections and oversee construction management; ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Prepare budgets, track expenditures and prepare reports for council and administration.
• Supervise assigned staff and manage workloads, scheduling and performance.
