Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Utilities Engineer - Transportation in Taylorsville, UT. You will work with a project team on the design, relocation, coordination, analysis, and constructability of utility systems within large transportation projects, taking ownership from start to finish.

Candidates should have a BS in Civil Engineering, a Professional Engineer license, 5+ years of total experience, and 2+ years in transportation engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree.
• Professional Engineering License.
• 5+ years of total experience.
• 2+ years of transportation engineering, design or construction experience.
• Proficiency in MicroStation (ORD).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate utility relocation/coordination with Federal, State, and local agencies or utility owners.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve engineering/construction issues.
• Lead coordination for design activities to ensure compliance with specifications and client requirements.
• Assist with proposals, contracts, and cost estimates; negotiate changes with sub-consultants and clients.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget; prepare reports and studies.
• Review work by others including calculations and drawings.
• Leadership opportunities depending on experience.
