Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Senior User Experience Researcher to uncover customer needs and influence product strategy across on‑premise and cloud platforms. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to shape usability and adoption of content delivery, cloud infrastructure, and security tools.

The role emphasizes end‑to‑end research, qualitative and quantitative methods, and translating findings into actionable journeys.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience influencing product strategy through rigorous customer research.
• Experience with complex enterprise software, developer platforms, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Knowledge of content delivery networks, networking, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity domains, or developer tooling.
• Excellent communication and storytelling to influence stakeholders across product, engineering, and design.

Responsibilities

• Leading end-to-end research across the product lifecycle from early discovery through post‑launch evaluation.
• Designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative research using interviews, usability studies, surveys, and analytics.
• Partnering closely with cross‑functional teams to influence product roadmap decisions and improve customer outcomes.
• Researching highly technical workflows involving content delivery, cloud infrastructure, automation, and edge computing.
• Building relationships with developers, engineers, and architects to deeply understand how they operate internet applications.
• Translating research findings into compelling insights, journeys, and recommendations that drive strategic product decisions.

As a Senior User Experience Researcher, you will be responsible for:

• Leading end-to-end research across the product lifecycle from early discovery through post‑launch evaluation

• Be knowledgeable about content delivery networks, networking, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity domains, or developer tooling

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $100,700 - $181,300/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
