Job summary

Ott in Fort Collins, Colorado, seeks a Senior UX Designer to craft intuitive experiences across water instrumentation products (physical and digital). You will lead UX from concept through implementation, create wireframes and interactive prototypes, and collaborate with engineering and product management to ensure feasible designs.

The role requires 4+ years of UX experience, strong visual design, and proficiency with Figma.

Qualifications

  • Strong visual design and deliverables (wireframes, prototypes, workflows).
  • UX research and usability testing across desktop, web and mobile.
  • iOS/Android mobile app design experience.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers and stakeholders.
  • Figma proficiency or similar tool.

About the Role

A senior User Experience Designer will help create intuitive, engaging, and highly usable experiences across a wide range of water instrumentation‑related products—both physical and digital.

Location

Fort Collins, Colorado. Reporting to the Director of Software Development & User Experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and execute UX design from concept through implementation, translating user requirements into usable and thoughtful applications.
  • Create wireframes, mock‑ups, storyboards, design specifications, and interactive prototypes.
  • Partner closely with engineering and product management to ensure designs are practical, scalable, and accurately implemented.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to identify pain points, validate solutions, and improve the customer experience.
  • Support onsite discovery and design workshops to better understand user problems.
  • Analyze digital experiences across web and mobile platforms to identify opportunities for consistency, growth, and usability improvements.
  • Help maintain and evolve the internal design system.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Visual Design, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant UX experience.
  • Experience creating usable and visually strong designs, including wireframes, prototypes, workflows, and interaction design deliverables.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing for desktop, web, and mobile interfaces; mobile app design experience for iOS and/or Android.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and cross‑functional stakeholders from concept through implementation.
  • Proficiency with Figma (or similar tool).
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with industrial design, mechanical design, or physical product usability.
  • Experience assessing usability for physical products, devices, or instrumentation.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Compensation

Estimated salary range: $100,000 – $120,000 USD per year. Additional compensation may include bonus pay.
