Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years US information reporting and withholding tax advisory experience.
• Clear and concise communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Broad knowledge of financial products, including investment funds.
• Ability to quickly grasp and explain complex business transactions/products.
• Ability to oversee multiple projects.
• Ability to synthesize complex regulations into terms easily understood by non-tax professionals.
• Ability to build positive relationships with the businesses supported and Information Reporting & Withholding team members.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and interpret new IRS information reporting and withholding tax guidance. Partner with JPMorgan businesses to determine impact on products, procedures and documentation.
• Monitor new products/transactions and ensure understanding of how rules apply.
• Review and comment on language in new business initiative documents to ensure reporting requirements are stated correctly.
• Meet with business and operations areas to ensure continued understanding of information reporting requirements.
• Research and respond to internal questions regarding tax documentation, client types, sources and payments.
• Prepare and present training when appropriate.
• Comment on newly proposed regulations, tax forms and industry issues.
• Provide guidance to the businesses on year-end tax reporting (Forms 1099, 1098, 1042-S filings, etc.).
