Job summary

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to join a growing products manufacturer near Little Falls, NY. You will own the urethane chemistry and laboratory function, partnering with production to improve processes and develop new material systems.

You will evaluate formulations, lead lab testing, develop next‑gen materials, support manufacturing throughput, and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and leadership to implement improvements.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering.
• 3–10+ years' experience with urethane formulation or processing.
• Elastomer experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Experience with raw material suppliers or chemical distribution may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and optimize urethane formulations to improve quality and throughput.
• Lead lab testing and validation of incoming raw materials.
• Use lab equipment mirroring production to resolve issues.
• Develop next-generation urethane materials for new products.
• Provide technical and process support to manufacturing.
• Identify improvements to reduce cycle times and increase output.
• Assist sourcing and qualification of secondary raw material sources.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and leadership on improvements.
