The City of Grand Junction is seeking a Senior Planner to perform a broad and advanced set of professional duties in the Community Development program, including planning, development, implementation, and modification of City plans and regulations. We look for three years of urban planning and development experience and a Bachelor's degree in planning or a related field.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by informing City staff, the public, and developers about plans, zoning, and development requirements.
Perform advanced professional duties in development, implementation, and modification of City plans and regulations.
Review and analyze applications for compliance with zoning, service providers, and good planning practices.
Write staff reports, resolutions, and ordinances for land use cases with background research and recommendations.
Serve as staff liaison to boards/commissions; prepare agendas and staff reports; provide input and recommendations.
Support updating the Comprehensive Plan and other adopted City Plans and policies.
