Job summary

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of relevant policy and advocacy experience, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Deep knowledge of offshore oil and natural gas operations and related laws and policies.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead API policy positions on offshore exploration and safety, guiding development and execution of advocacy strategies.
  • Represent API before federal and state agencies, Congress, and external stakeholders with credibility.
  • Coordinate across committees, build consensus, set priorities, and manage research, budgets, and timelines.
  • Provide rapid analysis and guidance to leadership on high-priority issues.
