Job summary

CBRE Union Chief Engineer is responsible for engineering operations, directing vendors and subcontractors, and ensuring preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems within a union setting.

The role includes managing work orders, scheduling maintenance to minimize downtime, and leading engineering staff to keep client spaces safe and functional while aligning with CBRE standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or trade school diploma with 8–10 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, combination of experience and education considered.
• Multidimensional, conceptual and innovative thinking to develop new solutions.
• Ability to identify and solve the most complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations, assign work orders, and train coworkers and subcontractors.
• Schedule preventive maintenance and downtime to cut business interruption.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for building systems.
• Monitor fire alarms, HVAC and plumbing to meet design specs.
• Oversee engineering staff and ensure completion and functionality of equipment.
• Respond to emergencies and summon additional assistance as needed.
• Coach and guide others using broad knowledge across functions.
