Job summary

CRC Group is seeking an Underwriting Consultant in the United States to provide advanced expertise in complex risk assessments and underwriting strategy. You will guide underwriters, shape pricing and coverage terms, and collaborate with actuarial, legal, and product teams on specialty accounts.

You will lead risk analyses, develop guidelines, and contribute to training and technology adoption while ensuring regulatory compliance and profitable growth across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive underwriting experience in property, casualty, or specialty lines with demonstrated expertise in complex accounts.
• Proven track record advising underwriting teams and influencing strategic risk decisions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complex and high-value submissions to determine risk acceptance, pricing strategy, and coverage terms.
• Provide expert consultation and mentoring to underwriters on risk analysis, policy structuring, and portfolio management.
• Develop and implement underwriting guidelines, best practices, and quality control measures to maintain compliance and reduce exposure.
• Collaborate with actuarial, legal, and product teams to design innovative insurance solutions and pricing models.
• Analyze market trends, loss ratios, and competitor data to inform product positioning and underwriting strategy.
• Assist in resolving escalated underwriting issues and negotiating terms with brokers and clients on specialty risks.
• Contribute to training programs, thought leadership initiatives, and technology adoption to enhance underwriting capabilities.
