Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a Senior Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting team with policy processing, endorsements, renewals and related tasks to ensure accurate and timely issuance for new business and renewals. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration three days a week with two days remote in the Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX area.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of P&C insurance experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• Knowledge of underwriting Workers’ Compensation, Property, General liability, Auto and Umbrella lines.
• 2-3 years of P&C insurance work experience.
• Proven team player and energetic personality.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, with a desire to learn.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to processing department for new and renewal accounts.
• Provide instruction to processing department for endorsement requests.
• Process endorsements within the Underwriting Department.
• Fulfill brokers requests for loss runs, copies of policies and invoicing.
• Provide agency support on renewal status, endorsement status, cancellation status, and billing inquiries.
• Requote within current systems as needed, adjusting credits, debits, or deductibles.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
• Complete renewal proposals as requested.
• Manually rate coverages and policies not fully automated.
• Handle full renewal process as allowed by Letter of Authority.
• Complete file documentation according to guidelines.
• Respond to agent service questions and resolve issues satisfactorily.
• Follow up on outstanding issues (loss control, etc.).
• Support underwriters in their activities as needed.
• Keep current with market trends and demands.

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Underwriting Assistant to join our Team! Under moderate supervision, this position supports the underwriting team in providing efficient and accurate handling of the technical aspects of the underwriting process. Provides administrative support to multiple underwriters and completing administrative tasks to expedite the underwriting process. This can include policy processing and issuance for new business and/or renewal preparation, quoting and issuance;endorsement processing; cancellations; and/or other policy processing associated tasks. May potentially hold a limited Letter of Underwriting Authority. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

This position is a hybrid work schedule 3 days in office 2 days remote in our Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX office.

Responsibilities

Handles full renewal process as allowed by Letter of Authority.11. Completes file documentation according to best practices guidelines.12. Responds to agent service questions and handles problems and service issues to a satisfactory resolution.13. Follow up on outstanding issues (i.e. loss control recommendations, etc)14. Supports the Underwriters in their activities as needed.15. Keeps current with market trends and demands.16. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The expected salary range for this role is $25-33.00/hr
