Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance seeks an experienced Executive Underwriter to drive profitable growth in the Central Region’s Wholesale Excess Casualty portfolio, focusing on primary GL and excess casualty risks in the E&S market. You will partner with wholesale brokers to evaluate, price, and structure complex risks with high autonomy.

Qualifications include 5–10 years of underwriting experience, a Business degree, and CPCU or similar designation preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business or equivalent is typically required.
• 5–10 years of progressive underwriting experience and/or related experience.
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Ability to evaluate complex underwriting issues and implement necessary processes/workflows.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price complex primary GL and excess casualty E&S risks.
• Manage and grow wholesale broker relationships to drive profitable new business.
• Evaluate, structure, and negotiate coverage for complex risks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Claims, Actuarial, UW Support, and leadership.
• Provide mentorship to junior underwriters and share portfolio insights.
