Job summary

Great American Insurance Group's Specialty Human Services Division is seeking a Senior Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist to join its team in Cincinnati, OH, supporting the Pacific Northwest territory. The role requires evaluating new and renewal business, analyzing risk data, and collaborating with agents, brokers, and clients.

On-site four days a week with one day remote; core in‑office Tue–Thu. erforderliche Abschluss- und Branchenkenntnisse, 5+ Jahre Underwriting-Erfahrung bevorzugt;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field and 5+ years underwriting experience.
• Professional designations (AU/CPCU/CIC/INS/ARM) encouraged.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong analytical ability.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and underwrites new and renewal business per guidelines and risk appetite.
• Analyzes risk data to inform coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Collaborates with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients for information.
• Orders and reviews motor vehicle, loss history, and external reports.
• Ensures proper documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluates renewals and policy modifications.
• Communicates decisions clearly to internal teams and brokers.
• Stays updated on trends, regulations, and market conditions.
• Builds relationships to generate and retain profitable business.
