Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience underwriting large workers’ compensation accounts.
• Experience underwriting large excess workers’ compensation and group/association accounts.
• Regional/local market knowledge of brokers and accounts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a strong background in marketing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Willingness to spend approximately 40% of time outside the office soliciting new business, building relationships, and maintaining renewal business.
• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
• This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our Chicago, IL office, located at 311 S. Wacker Dr. Suite 6350 Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, service, and drive profitability of a book of business within your assigned territory.
• Evaluate new and renewal excess workers’ compensation opportunities and analyze risk and loss information.
• Establish program structures and pricing; negotiate coverage, premium, terms and conditions with brokers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support new and renewal business.
• Meet directly with clients and risk management professionals to develop opportunities.
