Job Summary

Our Cyber and Professional Liability Business Unit seeks a motivated Senior Underwriter to help grow our diverse suite of cyber-driven products. You will be responsible for the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business within the southeast region. Your primary duties include underwriting new and renewal business, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

As a Senior Underwriter, you will collaborate with wholesale and retail partners to find suitable insurance solutions, demonstrate strong decision-making, and maintain detailed, relationship-driven work to expand Ascot’s brand and appetite for Cyber and Professional Liability.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned Cyber and E&O book through underwriting and strategic adherence.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to optimize risk and profitability.
• Monitor premiums, costs, and claims ratios, taking corrective actions when necessary.
• Work independently within delegated authority, referring cases as needed.
• Build and maintain relationships with peers, leaders, brokers, and internal teams to identify cross-selling and development opportunities.
• Foster external relationships with brokers to market and sell Ascot’s products.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of underwriting experience in the financial lines insurance industry, with a preference for Cyber and Professional Liability.
• Deep knowledge of insurance, regulations, and industry practices.
• Strong collaboration, critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Professional designations such as RPLU or CPCU are preferred but not required.
• Willingness to travel 10-15%.
