Salary Range: $98,480.00 To $147,720.00 Annually

About the Role:

The Senior Underwriter plays a critical role in evaluating and assessing risks associated with insurance applications to ensure profitable and sustainable business growth. This position involves analyzing complex data, financial information, and market trends to make informed decisions on policy approvals and terms. The Senior Underwriter collaborates closely with brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to tailor insurance solutions that meet client needs while adhering to company guidelines and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strategic mindset to balance risk and reward effectively, contributing to the overall risk management framework of the organization. Ultimately, the Senior Underwriter ensures that underwriting practices support the company’s financial objectives and maintain its reputation for reliability and integrity in the insurance market.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience in the insurance industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years or workers compensation auditor experience.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, and regulatory environment in the United States.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional underwriting certifications such as CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) or AU (Associate in Underwriting).

  • Familiarity with underwriting software and data analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing underwriting teams or projects.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant discipline or business administration.
