Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underwater Certified Bridge Inspector for the Southeast Region. The role covers Maitland, Tampa, Miami, or Sunrise, with extensive bridge inspections and report writing across Florida and beyond.

You will mentor junior divers/inspectors, lead dive safety, and coordinate with project engineers while ensuring OSHA and client-specific safety plans are followed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of bridge inspection experience.
• Understanding of national bridge inspection methods and SNBI reports.
• Commercial diving certification (ADCI) with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with dive safety protocols and equipment checks.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; FDOT knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate substructure elements for scour, corrosion, cracking, and marine growth impact.
• Document findings with photos, sketches, and field notes; prepare reports.
• Mentor junior divers/inspectors and oversee dive safety.
• Coordinate with topside inspection teams and engineers on structural concerns.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA diving regulations and client safety plans.
• Operate and maintain underwater inspection equipment (cameras, sonar, NDT).
