Job summary

RTX is seeking a software engineer to develop advanced detection and classification algorithms for deployed systems in Middletown, RI. You will work onsite with DoD-grade sensors and embedded/server software, contributing to real-time signal processing and hardware-in-the-loop testing.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, a STEM degree with several years of experience in C/C++, MATLAB, and signal processing, and willingness to travel occasionally for field tests and customer integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field and 5+ years of professional experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD.
• Hands-on development in C/C++ implementing real-time signal processing algorithms.
• Experience with MATLAB or similar for algorithm evaluation and data analysis.
• Strong foundation in signal processing concepts and real-time systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop sophisticated detection and classification algorithms for deployed systems.
• Optimize sensor system software architectures for embedded and server platforms.
• Support real-time evaluation and hardware-in-the-loop testing in high-fidelity scenarios.
• Enhance algorithm architecture and execution frameworks for performance.
