Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH company, seeks an Underground Pipefitter Foreman to supervise crews installing and maintaining underground utility systems, including storm and sanitary sewers and water lines. You will guide field teams, ensure safety, and deliver projects per plans and schedules.

The role requires leadership, strong knowledge of underground utilities, and the ability to work with diverse teams on complex sites, with travel and possible night shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 5+ years in heavy underground utility work installing water lines, sanitary sewer, storm sewer.
• Previous related experience in the construction field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise underground utility crews on construction projects.
• Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, grades, and utility layouts.
• Coordinate daily work activities with Superintendents, Project Managers, Surveyors, and other crews.
• Oversee the installation of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water mains, manholes, inlets, junction boxes, and related underground structures.
• Monitor trenching, shoring, excavation, bedding, and backfill operations.
• Ensure pipe systems are installed according to project specifications and grade requirements.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
• Inspect work areas, equipment, and completed installations to ensure quality standards are met.
• Schedule labor, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity.
• Train and mentor crew members on proper installation methods, safety practices, and equipment operation.
• Maintain production records, daily reports, and documentation as required.
• Communicate project progress, delays, and challenges to management.
• Perform hands-on work alongside crew members when necessary.
• Coordinate utility conflict resolutions and adjustments in the field.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
