Job summary

Barrick is seeking a Senior Mine Engineer for the Fourmile project in Elko, NV. You will support the Project Manager delivering the pre-feasibility study and exploration development, assessing technical, economic, and financial aspects.

You will lead a team of engineers and geologists, mentor juniors, and refine your own skills in engineering, project management, and leadership as the project progresses from pre-feasibility through operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mine Engineering; minimum 10 years of experience; required.
• Minimum 3 years of mine design and scheduling; required.
• Ventilation experience; required.
• Strong technical communication and presentation skills; required.
• Expert knowledge in underground mine engineering and design; required.
• Qualified Persons status preferred.
• Project management skills preferred.
• Ability to operate MS Office, Deswik, Xeras, and VentSim; preferred.
• Strong communication and team fostering skills; required.

Responsibilities

• Produce life-of-mine project designs and costing, updating for geologic revisions and geotechnical parameters.
• Optimize mine designs and schedules with iterative scenarios and future growth.
• Use mine scheduling software to create schedules for budgeting and forecasting; include capital access designs.
• Produce study forecasts and budgets in various formats for other programs.
• Implement Xeras models to forecast operating costs.
• Select equipment for additions and replacements to the production fleet.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and development of team members.
• Formulate project parameters and monitor progress to address constraints.
