Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. is seeking a Senior Underground Mine Engineer to lead technical work across mine studies, plans, and reserves from our Corporate Denver office.

The role focuses on underground mining with possible open-pit support, requiring strong scheduling, design, and economic evaluation skills. Responsibilities include safety-driven planning, budget reviews, long-range master plans, and independent QA of engineering outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline; P.E. or equivalent designation preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in mine engineering, planning, operations, or technical studies; open pit and underground experience preferred.
• Experience in long-term and Life of Mine planning, scheduling, and economic evaluation.
• Strong technical, analytical, writing, presentation, and communication skills; Deswik experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate visible safety leadership and integrate safety considerations into mine planning, design, and technical decision-making.
• Support the development and review of the annual Corporate Mine Technical Services Budget.
• Develop long-term strategic and District Master Plan options, including mine physicals, metal production profiles, and financial analyses.
• Perform independent technical reviews and QA of mine engineering work, plans, studies, and Mineral Reserve inputs.
• Provide technical support and peer review to site teams across mine design, planning, scheduling, and optimization.
• Support Mineral Reserve governance and annual reporting through review of planning assumptions and designs.
• Evaluate technical alternatives using economic and financial analysis to support value-based decisions.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation, and technology in mine planning and operations.
