Sovos is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Unclaimed Property consulting group in the United States. You will work with senior leaders to help clients navigate state unclaimed property compliance, reduce liability, and meet evolving requirements.

The role combines analytical rigor with client-facing expertise to deliver meaningful outcomes. You will partner with clients and internal teams to assess risk, review records, and develop strategies that mitigate liabilities while leveraging

Qualifications

• Experience conducting compliance assessments, analyzing financial records, and managing client engagements in unclaimed property or related domain.
• Background in accounting, finance, or related field with degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to juggle multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex issues into clear guidance.

Responsabilités

• Partner with senior leaders and clients to manage state unclaimed property risk assessments, voluntary disclosures, and audits.
• Review client records, ledgers, and trial balances to identify noncompliance and quantify risk; document findings clearly.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Senior Reviewers to develop strategies to mitigate liabilities and improve compliance.
• Analyze unclaimed property populations by property type using Sovos software (UPE, UPET, UPRT) and leverage AI tools for data analysis and reporting workflows.
• Prepare, track, and submit due diligence letters and state compliance reports; ensure accuracy through QC review.
• Maintain organized work papers and document client meetings; provide timely project status and budget updates.
• Contribute to team development by training new employees on client workflows and industry tools; pursue ongoing learning in unclaimed property and information security.
