Job summary

Howard University Hospital seeks a Lead Ultrasound Technologist to supervise radiology operations, perform OB/GYN sonograms, biophysical profiles, NSTs and AFIs, and assist with amniocentesis and CVS procedures.

Under the Radiology Manager, you will coordinate daily workflow, ensure image accuracy, train staff, and present findings to physicians. ARDMS and BLS certifications are required; 3–5 years of experience and leadership preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree (AA) in Radiology or equivalent from a two year college or hospital-based program.
• ARDMS certification required; certification in General, Vascular and OB/GYN desired.
• BLS certification required.
• Three to five years prior experience required; leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and assigns daily work flow; determines staffing coverage.
• Uses ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images and document findings.
• Explain procedures to patients to provide comfort and safety.
• Review patient information for exam order accuracy and demographics.
• Assist Manager with developing goals, policies, and procedures.
• Provide direct patient care, position patients, and monitor vital signs.
• Summarize and present images and findings to physicians for diagnosis.
• Train and orient staff; participate in lead technologists meetings.
