Job summary

Citi Equities Technology seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead the ultra-low-latency risk engine development, integrating with the cash equities trading platform. The role is hands-on and leadership‑driven, with cross‑regional delivery across APAC, EMEA, and NAM.

The engineer will optimize JVM/C++ performance, implement IPC with Aeron/Solace, and drive architecture decisions while mentoring global teams and collaborating with traders and quants.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering in latency-critical trading systems.
• Strong hands-on in Low Latency Java and/or C++ (Rust a plus).
• Leadership experience managing engineers across locations.
• Excellent communication with global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ultra-low-latency risk checks and exposure controls.
• Architect high-performance, multi-threaded components with minimal latency.
• Collaborate with product, quant research, infra, and QA teams.
• Lead and mentor onshore/offshore engineers across regions.
