Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human–Computer Interaction & Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years hands-on UI/UX design and implementation with cross-functional teams.
• 3–5+ years leading design initiatives across multiple apps or teams.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3; design tools like Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG).
• Experience with React and frontend performance optimization.
• Experience with Agile/DevSecOps environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as UI/UX SME and translate business requirements into UI designs for frontend teams.
• Drive UI/UX best practices, ensuring usability and accessibility across programs.
• Establish reusable component libraries and design systems (Bootstrap, Material UI, etc.).
• Ensure 508 compliance and WCAG alignment across applications.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions.
• Lead modernization initiatives and drive frontend strategy with cross-functional teams.

WhatYou’llBe Doing

• Serve as the UI/UX SME and translate business requirements and UX strategy into elegant, intuitive, and high-performing user interfacesfor development teamsto implement
• Drive UI/UX best practices across programs, ensuring consistency, usability, and accessibility
• Establish andmaintainreusablecomponentlibraries and design systemsleveragingframeworks such as Bootstrap, Material UI, andTrussworks
• Ensure Section 508 compliance and adherence to WCAG 2.x standards across applications
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product owners, designers, backend engineers, and stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions
• Partner with projectand clientleadership to shape a modernization roadmap and implementmodernization initiatives and continuousproactiveimprovement ofthedevelopment processeswhile stayingcurrent with emerging frontend technologies
• Lead troubleshooting efforts toidentifyand resolve complex UI/UX and performance issues
• Provide final UI/UX review and sign-offof developed appsacrossmultiple tech platforms (e.g.M365 / Power Platform, ServiceNow, etc.) andfront-enddevelopment teams(e.g.React based apps)prior to customer User Acceptance Testing (UAT)androllout
• Lead creation of high-fidelity prototypes and wireframesfor multiple teams supportingdisparate techstacks
• Develop repeatable design-to-development workflows to accelerate delivery across teams
• Conduct usability testing and design validation sessionswithdevelopment teams
• Proactively coach and mentor development teams on UI/UX best practices and modern design approaches

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human–Computer Interaction & Design, or a related technical disciplinestrongly preferredORrelated professional experience in lieu of a degree acceptable.
• Over 8 years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design and implementation, applying design standards and collaborating closely with development teams to deliver consistent, intuitive user experiences.
• 3–5 years of experience leading design initiatives across multiple applications or cross‑functional teams.
• Advancedproficiencyin HTML5andCSS3,andin design tools such as Figmaor Adobe suite
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG
• Proven experienceoptimizingfrontend performance and application scalability
• Experience working in Agile/DevSecOpsdevelopment environments
• Demonstrated ability to lead discussionsregardingUI/UXplanningand influence frontend strategy
• Experience with React and Power Platforms
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillswith ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Portfolioshowcasingenterprise-level UI/UX work

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors orMastersdegree inHuman-Computer Interaction and Designor similar area of study
• Experience leading frontend modernization or transformation initiatives
• Familiarity with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or other UX prototyping tools
• Knowledge ofDevSecOpspractices and CI/CD integration for frontend deployments
• Experiencedesigning solutions that follow USWDS and supportfederal or regulated environments
