Job summary

Dev Technology Group is seeking a Senior UI/UX Front-End Design Lead to drive strategy and execution across a federal agency, serving as the central design authority for multiple delivery teams and applications. You will champion intuitive, mission-aligned user experiences and modern frontend practices across diverse tech stacks.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in UI/UX design and implementation, with hands-on collaboration with development teams to deliver fast, compliant interfaces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human–Computer Interaction & Design, or a related technical discipline preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 8 years of hands-on UI/UX design and implementation experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience leading design initiatives across multiple applications or cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3, and design tools such as Figma or Adobe suite.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG).
  • Proven experience optimizing frontend performance and scalability.
  • Experience in Agile/DevSecOps environments.
  • Ability to lead discussions on UI/UX planning and influence frontend strategy.
  • Experience with React and Power Platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the UI/UX SME and translate requirements into interfaces for developers.
  • Drive UI/UX best practices across programs for usability and accessibility.
  • Establish reusable component libraries and design systems (Bootstrap, Material UI).
  • Ensure Section 508 compliance and WCAG standards.
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, engineers and stakeholders.
  • Shape modernization roadmap with leadership and guide frontend modernization efforts.
  • Lead troubleshooting for UI/UX and performance issues.
  • Provide final UI/UX review and sign-off across platforms prior to UAT.
  • Lead creation of high-fidelity prototypes and wireframes.
  • Develop repeatable design-to-development workflows to accelerate delivery.
  • Conduct usability testing and design validation with teams.
  • Mentor teams on UI/UX best practices and modern design approaches.

WhatYou’llBe Doing

  • Serve as the UI/UX SME and translate business requirements and UX strategy into elegant, intuitive, and high-performing user interfacesfor development teamsto implement
  • Drive UI/UX best practices across programs, ensuring consistency, usability, and accessibility
  • Establish andmaintainreusablecomponentlibraries and design systemsleveragingframeworks such as Bootstrap, Material UI, andTrussworks
  • Ensure Section 508 compliance and adherence to WCAG 2.x standards across applications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product owners, designers, backend engineers, and stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions
  • Partner with projectand clientleadership to shape a modernization roadmap and implementmodernization initiatives and continuousproactiveimprovement ofthedevelopment processeswhile stayingcurrent with emerging frontend technologies
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts toidentifyand resolve complex UI/UX and performance issues
  • Provide final UI/UX review and sign-offof developed appsacrossmultiple tech platforms (e.g.M365 / Power Platform, ServiceNow, etc.) andfront-enddevelopment teams(e.g.React based apps)prior to customer User Acceptance Testing (UAT)androllout
  • Lead creation of high-fidelity prototypes and wireframesfor multiple teams supportingdisparate techstacks
  • Develop repeatable design-to-development workflows to accelerate delivery across teams
  • Conduct usability testing and design validation sessionswithdevelopment teams
  • Proactively coach and mentor development teams on UI/UX best practices and modern design approaches

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human–Computer Interaction & Design, or a related technical disciplinestrongly preferredORrelated professional experience in lieu of a degree acceptable.
  • Over 8 years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design and implementation, applying design standards and collaborating closely with development teams to deliver consistent, intuitive user experiences.
  • 3–5 years of experience leading design initiatives across multiple applications or cross‑functional teams.
  • Advancedproficiencyin HTML5andCSS3,andin design tools such as Figmaor Adobe suite
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG

Preferred Qualifications
