Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Software Engineer – UI/UX (Qt/QML) to own major UI features for the Prism Mapping application. You will work with clinicians, designers, and engineers to translate Figma designs into production interfaces, make architecture decisions, and mentor junior team members.

The role requires strong Python/C++ skills and a track record building large software systems in a regulated healthcare environment. It offers onsite collaboration and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• PhD with 0 years relevant experience.
• Strong Python and/or C++ expertise.
• Experience building large, complex software applications or subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Own significant UI features and clinical workflows in Qt/QML.
• Make architectural decisions on UI state, data binding, threading between UI and real-time data, and interaction patterns.
• Partner closely with UX designers to translate designs into responsive production interfaces.
• Own features, components, or subsystems end-to-end.
• Determine the technical approach for complex component- and subsystem-level problems with limited supervision.
• Lead development across design, implementation, integration, and support for assigned areas.
• Contribute to software architecture, design improvements, engineering practices, and development processes.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, and guidance.
• Collaborate effectively across software, systems, hardware, and quality in a regulated environment.
• Communicate technical issues, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to team members and stakeholders.
