Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior UI Technical Artist to define UI tech art systems, materials, and motion language that unify a game UI experience across platforms. You will build reusable templates and polished real-time effects in Unreal Engine while mentoring UI artists.

You will drive technical art direction for UI materials and motion language, craft scalable templates, and ensure consistent visual behavior across transitions and screens.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist, UI Tech Artist, or VFX Artist with game UI exposure.
• Strong Unreal Engine 5 experience with Material Editor and Niagara for real-time VFX.
• Advanced Sequencer experience for cinematic camera moves and transitions.
• Familiarity with UI patterns, materials, and cross-platform UI considerations.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical art direction for UI materials, motion language, and reusable patterns.
• Build polished UI tech art solutions using materials, UMG, animation, FX, blueprints, lighting, and camera tools in UE4/5.
• Create templates and principles that scale across UI surfaces and platforms.
• Design consistent visual behaviors for transitions, scale, proportion, and interactive feedback.
• Plan platform adaptation strategies balancing visual fidelity with runtime performance.
• Own UI tech art tooling, pipelines, and asset management for production efficiency.
• Mentor UI artists by sharing best practices and raising craft standards.
• Prototype hover states, micro-interactions, and motion details for UI feel.
• Use Sequencer to deliver camera-driven UI moments and cinematic transitions.
• Optimize shaders, textures, and materials to meet performance targets without quality loss.
• Partner with UX/UI design to integrate systems cleanly and maintain visual consistency.
