Job summary

Leidos in Omaha, NE seeks Software Engineers with 8+ years hands-on experience to join our agile teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of relevant software experience, or Master’s with 6+ years.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with modern React and TypeScript.
• Familiar with containerization (Docker).
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain Secret clearance.
• On-site work in Omaha with some remote capability.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and help lead the full software development lifecycle, within broadly defined parameters.
• Use Jira, Confluence, Nexus, Git, and development operations tools.
• Support creation and updating of documentation and specifications for design, development, and testing.
• Identify potential roadblocks and develop around them.
• Plan and estimate development tasks and work to improve performance metrics.
• Develop maintainable code that matches specification.
• Write and execute unit, E2E, and integration tests.
• Work closely with other engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development and enhancements.
• Build software solutions prioritizing customer needs.

In this role, the successful candidate has significant experience in building JavaScript‑based web applications, including familiarity with multiple frameworks, strong programming fundamentals, and typical web application development and deployment processes. You must be capable of working on multiple projects at once and seeing them all through to completion, and a self‑starter who is able to work through any obstacles to get the job done. Most of the work will be on site in Leidos' facility in Omaha, Nebraska. Some level of remote/work from home is possible.

Primary Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Skillful with (ES6+) JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 broadly.
• Specific skills in any of the following client technologies preferred: Modern React - Tanstack Query/ReactQuery – StyleComponents – Playbook – CesiumJS - TypeScript
• Familiar with containerization (Docker/Podman).
• Solid understanding of software development process fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications

• US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance or higher.
• Experience with Agile development principles and methodologies
• Working knowledge of continuous integration and delivery methodologies and tools
• Solid understanding of software development process fundamentals
• Experience managing projects within the Atlassian suite of tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket).
• Familiarity with component-based web frameworks & libraries (React, Vue, Angular)
• Knowledge of a version control system (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools (Gitlab)
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with USSTRATCOM Nuclear Planning process

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
