Job summary

Joby Autonomy seeks a Senior Software Engineer to develop mission-critical UI for our aircraft remote operations platform, delivering real-time situational awareness to ground control operators. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years delivering production-grade web applications.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, React (hooks, state mgmt), HTML5 and CSS.
• Strong ability to communicate technical goals/constraints when using modern tooling with audit/due diligence.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, modular UI design, and front-end testing practices.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain real-time, high-performance UI instruments for monitoring and controlling experimental aircraft systems from ground control stations.
• Collaborate with flight test engineers, systems engineers, and remote operators to translate complex requirements into intuitive workflows.
• Establish and champion front-end best practices for architecture, state management, and component reusability.
• Utilize AI-assisted coding workflows with thorough oversight and code reviews to ensure high quality.
• Partner across teams to explore end-to-end system integrations between ground station and aircraft interfaces.
• Lead technical design initiatives and contribute to product direction from an operator-focused perspective.
