Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration seeks a Principal Engineer Software – UI Automated Test Lead in Colorado Springs, CO. This on-site role drives UI automation and software development in Java and Python for the C2BMC UI, translating legacy code to modern architecture and guiding junior engineers.

The candidate will lead UI automation efforts, design test frameworks, and collaborate across teams using GitLab, Confluence, and JIRA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 5 years of experience; or Master’s with 3 years; or 9 years experience in lieu of degree
• Active Government-Issued 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher at time of application
• Active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance to start
• Experience with UI Automated Testing and design/execution of automated UI test cases
• UI development experience in Java and Python
• Experience developing automated UI tests with Sikuli
• Experience with GitLab for source control/CI
• Experience leading UI development and automation teams
• Experience mentoring junior engineers in UI development and automation
• Experience using Confluence and JIRA
• Strong Java development experience: design, implementation, debugging, maintenance

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a UI automated testing framework for C2BMC UI products
• Develop UI software in Java and Python including automation and test harnesses
• Translate legacy code into modern architecture to improve maintainability and testability
• Develop automated UI test cases using Sikuli integrated into program workflows
• Lead UI development efforts, set technical direction and best practices
• Mentor junior engineers on UI development and automation practices
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams using GitLab, Confluence, JIRA
• Communicate status and risks clearly in a dynamic environment
