Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Colorado Springs, CO seeks a Principal Engineer Software – UI Automated Test Lead to design and implement a UI automation framework for the C2BMC UI. You will lead UI automation across the capability, translating legacy code and mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires strong Java and Python software development, Sikuli-based UI testing, and leadership to set best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 5 years of experience; or Master’s with 3 years; or 9 years alternative.
• Active Government-Issued 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher at time of application and maintained throughout contract.
• Active in-scope Government-issued Secret clearance to start.
• Experience with User Interface Automated Testing, Java and Python development.
• Experience developing automated test cases with Sikuli for UI automation.
• Experience with GitLab for source control, CI, and collaboration.
• Experience leading UI development and automation efforts; mentoring junior engineers.
• Proficient in Confluence and JIRA; strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a UI automated testing framework for C2BMC UI products.
• Develop and enhance UI software in Java and Python, including automation and test harnesses.
• Translate legacy code into modern architecture to improve maintainability and testability.
• Develop automated UI test cases using Sikuli and integrate into workflows.
• Lead development efforts within UI capabilities and set technical direction.
• Mentor junior engineers on UI development and automation practices.
• Use GitLab, Confluence, and JIRA to plan, track, and deliver work.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment; communicate status and risks.
