Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior UI Artist to define and implement the game's UI identity across PC, console, and mobile. You will translate design concepts into polished mockups and production-ready UI assets inside Unreal Engine, using UMG, Slate, and the Material Editor.

You will lead UI visual direction, build menus, HUDs, icons, and motion tailored to gameplay, and collaborate with design and engineering to ensure performance, accessibility, and localization readiness.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience as a UI Artist or in a closely related art field, preferably within games.
• Strong leadership skills to drive a UI theme from concept through final delivery.
• Shipped UI across PC, console, and mobile platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 with UMG, Slate, and the Material Editor.
• Strong visual design skills in UI/UX, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Proficiency in industry-standard art tools, including Figma.
• Solid understanding of optimization for real-time UI, including texture performance and atlasing.

Responsibilities

• Drive the visual direction of the UI aesthetic from initial concept through final ship quality.
• Convert UX wireframes into polished mockups, prototypes, design systems, and style guides.
• Build final UI art directly within Unreal Engine using UMG, Slate, and widget animations.
• Develop UI materials and shaders through Unreal Material Editor to maintain a cohesive theme.
• Craft game menus, HUD elements, iconography, and UI motion tailored to gameplay requirements.
• Produce material-driven effects, 2D or animated effects, and simple Blueprint logic for UI.
• Refine UI assets for performance and clarity across PC, console, and mobile platforms.
• Guarantee UI supports accessibility and localization readiness without compromising quality.
• Manage UI asset libraries, style guides, and reusable components.
• Partner with designers and engineers to iterate rapidly and resolve integration challenges.
