Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Software Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable UI and API automation solutions across web apps, APIs, and cloud-native platforms. The role focuses on creating reliable automation frameworks, boosting test coverage, and integrating quality gates into CI/CD pipelines to enable faster, higher-confidence releases.

This highly technical position requires expertise in modern UI and API automation, cloud environments, and continuous testing practices

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python.
• Strong experience with Playwright for UI automation.
• Experience using PyTest and automation framework development.
• Strong understanding of API testing and REST services.
• Experience with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or equivalent.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud-hosted applications.
• Experience with test reporting and debugging production-quality systems.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI and API automation frameworks.
• Create automated test suites using Playwright, Python, and PyTest.
• Develop and execute API automation tests for RESTful services.
• Build reusable test utilities, libraries, and reporting capabilities.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Partner with developers, product managers, and QE teams to define quality strategies.
• Perform root-cause analysis of failures and drive defect prevention.
• Support test execution in AWS-hosted environments.
• Validate application functionality across end-to-end workflows.
• Participate in requirements reviews and sprint activities.
• Improve automation reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency.
• Contribute to quality metrics, reporting, and release readiness assessments.
• Promote quality engineering best practices across teams.
