Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable test automation for web applications, APIs, and cloud-native platforms. The role emphasizes reliable automation frameworks, increased test coverage, and CI/CD quality gates to enable faster, higher‑confidence releases.

You will partner with developers, product managers, and QE teams to define quality strategies, implement Playwright, Python, and PyTest, and develop reusable test

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of software quality engineering or test automation.
• Strong hands-on Python experience.
• Proficiency with Playwright for UI automation.
• Experience with PyTest and automation framework development.
• Strong understanding of API testing and REST services.
• Experience with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or equivalent.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud-hosted applications.
• Experience with test reporting and debugging production-quality systems.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and QE teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI and API automation frameworks.
• Create automated test suites using Playwright, Python, and PyTest.
• Develop and execute API automation tests for RESTful services.
• Build reusable test utilities, libraries, and reporting capabilities.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Partner closely with developers, product managers, and QE teams to define quality strategies and test coverage.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of failures and drive defect prevention.
• Support test execution in AWS-hosted environments.
• Validate application functionality, integrations, and end‑to‑end workflows.
• Participate in requirements reviews, design discussions, and sprint activities.
• Continuously improve automation reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency.
• Contribute to quality metrics, reporting, and release readiness assessments.
• Promote quality engineering best practices across teams.
