Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled technical documentation engineer to research, analyze, and document detailed requirements for operator, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures related to aircraft systems.

The role involves reviewing engineering materials, establishing safety criteria, and developing procedures to support customer and test/operational requirements. DoD clearance is required or anticipated.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years of professional experience.
Formal training in Aeronautical Decision Making, Crew Resource Management and Human Factors.
Operational experience as aircrew (pilot preferred) flying MQ-9 aircraft.
Comprehensive technical understanding of aircraft systems.
Strong ability to communicate technical data verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Research, analyzes, develops and documents requirements for operators, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures and technical specs.
Reads and interprets engineering drawings, software docs, test plans and design documents.
Assesses safety criteria in procedures and design to control hazards.
Develops safety procedures to support customer and test requirements.
Investigates issues and collaborates with engineering and operations to document solutions.
May serve as primary contact on contracts and programs.
