Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the physical design and sustainment of unmanned aircraft and related hardware. You will collaborate with aircraft designers to optimize structures, payloads, and subsystems from concept through testing and manufacturing.

Required is a B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8+ years of experience, plus hands-on CAD, structural analysis, GD&T, and manufacturing-support skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8+ years relevant industry experience.
• Proficient in 3D CAD design (Solid/Surface) and machine design fundamentals.
• Experience with structural analysis using hand calculations and FEM.
• GD&T per ASME standards; tolerance analysis expertise.
• Design for manufacturing and assembly experience.
• PLM and requirements verification/validation experience.
• Collaborates with production and procurement teams.
• Eligible for DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, fabrication, prototyping, and flight testing of UAVs and launch systems.
• Individually perform and coach others in mechanical design.
• Create component and assembly-level designs and prototypes.
• Develop system and sub-system designs, models, and prototypes.
• Produce production drawings with GD&T per standards.
• Review and approve designs, analyses, and drawings.
